Pear from Bošáca - Zabudišová

Species: Pear pink (Pyrus communis)
Age: 200 years years
Region: village Bošáca, local part Zabudišová, region Nové Mesto nad Váhom, Slovakia

The pink pear is a typical local old variety that grows only in this region. Its appearance is not found elsewhere. The tree stands alone with beautiful habit and was probably planted by the first settlers. It is a witness of the lives of many generations of inhabitants and their hard work. Fruit products - schnapps and dried fruit were exported from Bošáca by boat and then by train to Vienna and Budapest.
